Things to do you see a business can cash in on the Internet boom.

The first thing you need to do is to figure out where you are going to fit in? What I mean by this is what is the products that you’re actually going to be selling. Is your product is such that as of the custom nature. Meaning, can I purchase things from your company online or do you need to be able get the specs of the job because it needs to be custom quoted. If you do and custom quotes often and at that all you need to do is to find a reputable companies do search engine optimization to your website. If the website is not up to snuff to the level of graphic design.  Need to hire a web designer to bring you up to speed and/or up-to-date.

If your company website is more of the e-commerce type. Then, there’s a lot that you’re going to need to do to get that website up to snuff. You are going to have to find a company that is reputable and competent to do your job. This going to be a lot of programming that’s going to need to be done for e-commerce website. One things you don’t want to find out is going to be in PHP.,  Asp.net, etc. it is very important that you find out the company has a very good web programmer to handle all the database needs of a e-commerce website.

The and company is going to have to know more than just the e-commerce programming. They’re also going to have to have a good understanding of search engine optimization and Internet marketing. These things are all very important because they all called Mendel one another. If you go with a company that’s talented and database programming, and they know nothing about search engine optimization, and you’re going to end up paying twice the amount. Because whatever they end up doing at the level of programming.  It’s going to have to be redone at the level of search engine optimization.

So as you may figure out the is going to be a lot of things that you’re going to need to do at the level of choosing the correct website design company, and/or search engine optimization company to basically do all of your needs.

I personally find that it’s best to find a company that’s actually very well versed in both products. Find a one-stop shop that can give you everything from A to Z. as far as I’m concerned, they better be able to do all things design a aesthetically pleasing customize  Website.  Be able to do functional back in the e-commerce with an admin program.  So you can constantly update all of your products without having to call them for every little thing you need. And last but certainly not least, they need to be well versed in search engine optimization.

The question is so good I want to ask it again. What is the most important tool you have as a company????

I remember most than five or six years ago that I had read somewhere that within the next six to 10 years.  If you didn’t have a quality website with good functionality that you will find yourself on the short end of the stick.

When I first read it some years ago, I thought was kind of over exaggerated. Back then, the Internet was virtually nothing compared to what is now. Remember the first year they made like a big deal about how many sales through the Internet were taking place during Christmas time. But here we are just six years after I read that comment, and now I’m telling people exact same thing. I can even stress you how our agent is that you have an up-to-date functional website.

Chances are, you have an update your website in the last four or five years is completely out of date information and very least is inconsistent, if not flat-out wrong, and it looks a little bit like the tuxedo that you wore to the high school prom, completely out of date.

I keep saying this again and again because I can’t really believe it myself. Last month, Google build out $1 billion in pay per click advertising. Seriously with all earnestness, you have got a get an up-to-date website.

The next question is, if you’re going to get a new website or update the website you have the new going to have to find a reputable website design company. Sometimes just doing the due diligence to try and find an up-to-date custom web design company is next to impossible or at the very least, exhausting.

The other important thing to keep in mind is whoever builds your custom website better know about search engine optimization. If you get the best website in the world and you optimize it.  You literally throwing your money out the window. You know its funny when I ask how do people find your website online. The most common response is, they typed in www. whatever .com . I can’t help but laugh about this, that means that the only way that someone’s in a find your website as if they were you know about it. This is where search engine optimization comes in, if you optimize your website do people actually be able to find you through the provinces that you sell.

I want you to keep something in mind, every single day that goes by that you don’t have a website that has been optimized for the search engines. You are losing time, and money. Each and every day the world of the Internet keeps getting stronger and more powerful.

Something I love to point out to people is this - how many Americans, do you think are still using the Yellow Pages. And by the Yellow Pages, I mean that huge yellow book, that they conveniently keep putting them from your door, year after year. I’ll and don’t forget.  It’s now not just the Yellow Pages. It’s the Yellow Pages, the yellow book, the Verizon Yellow Pages, and probably a half a dozen little yellow books called whatever. You know it’s funny every time the Yellow Pages show up, I think it anybody’s house, somebody takes the one they had sent out may be six months before throws out a way. But here’s what’s most important about the Yellow Pages.  Almost nobody uses them anymore. And most of it about six months ago that I got the Yellow Pages sent to my house.  And I is my wife do you want us.  She said no and I said ya, me neither. I opened up the trash can, and gave them the old heve ho.

I ask people when they come my office all the time to use the Yellow Pages anymore. You know what the answer is almost always??? ((( NO!!!!))) I would say eight out of 10 people that I asked this question too soon to use the Internet to find what it is that they’re looking for. And that of those eight people.  Seven of them almost always say Google is where I do my searching. These are just a few of the many reasons why you want to make sure that your website is up to date.

Search Engine Optimization is a term used to describe a process of improving the volume of traffic to a web site from search engines in the natural search results.
